What do you think my teacher meant when she igned me to write a Homeric simile?

I missed the day when she igned it, but the description on the board was to "write a homeric simile" about a force of nature) eg. a tornado or storm. Does she mean to write it comparing something to a force of nature, or use the force of nature to explain something else?
