The end of the world, already ?

Are people really dumb enough to toy with the very fabric of reality? More importantly, do they have the know how to do so? Who knows. I'm guessing the scientists that will be there taking notes don't want to implode. It will be safe-ish, most likely. They do have self-preservation, after all.
