Religious poem, can anyone give me an idea about this?

You should probably be aware that Blake was a selfstyled Gnostic who believed that the God of the Bible was not the true God but an inferior creation. So many of his references can be the opposite of what they appear to be. This is the introduction to a group of poems called "Songs of Experience", and the bard is likely Blake himself, or his poetic character.
