Is anyone else sick of the music kids listen to these days?
I'm not really against modern music, hell I like a lot of newer bands (LCD Soundsystem, Arcade Fire, Hot Chip ect..) but it seems like kids today just want to listen to crap (Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, System of the Down ect..) or some boring dinosaur hard rock bands (AC/DC, Kiss, Guns N' Roses) is there anyone out there that's interested in music that pushed the bondaries, are there any fans of Captain Beefheart or Television around any more, anybody on this site think Ian Curtis was a poet and Iggy Pop was a god. And What happen to looking at albums as art and not just a collection of two singles and crappy filler, who out there appreciates "The Velvet Underground and Nico" or "London Calling" for being a perfect album, despite lack of hits. The same thing goes for movies, kids (and alot of adults) today have never seen (or want to) "Citizen Kane", "Chinatown", "Blue Velvet", "Vertigo" or "Raging Bull" much less "8 1/2", "Seventh Seal", "Rules of the Game", and "Tokyo Story"
